Long before the local and Slow Food movements became headline news, chef Jenny Breen and event planner Karn Anderson were quietly building a reputation for memorable catered events centered on delectable foods prepared from fresh, local ingredients.

Back in 1996, after years of work in the food industry, the two friends and business partners opened The Good Life Cafe in Minneapolis—as an embodiment of their philosophy to "live simply, eat well, and enjoy life." After their children were born, they continued catering under the same name. Today, they are known among wedding planners, businesses, and a select group of regular clientele, as one of the best kept secrets in the Twin Cities food scene.
